| Abstract | This study explores the life story of a centenarian, Grandma Shin Heng, from how she passed through war and hardship to prosperity and peace. Through her life story, it shows how an intellectual woman of the last century has passed through the centuries. From her personality traits, physiology, family, and social environment ......, we can understand how she participated in leisure and lived a happy life in her later years when she was physically challenged, and how she lived a wonderful life with the care of her family and loved ones. From her health maintenance and the care she received from her family and friends, she was able to live the last mile of her extended life in a colorful way. Based on her life story and experience, this study hopes to encourage those who are physically disabled and need help in the future centenarian era to overcome the difficulties of physical limitations and live each day with a positive and active attitude and perseverance. In this paper, a qualitative research method was used to conduct semi-structured interviews and inductive analyses with close relatives of Grandma Shin Heng, caregivers who have taken care of the elderly in their families, and professionals, in order to understand the life history of the centenarian, as well as their motivations, thoughts, emotions, and reactions. From exploring the obstacles and difficulties encountered by the centenarians in their lives, we have been able to compile a picture of society's understanding of and support for the needs of the elderly in their lives. Through these discussions, we remind our nation of how to pay attention to the needs of the 100-year-olds in the upcoming century-old society in order to achieve the goal of successful and quality aging for the ultra-high. |
