| Abstract | As global environmental issues become increasingly severe, low-carbon tourism has emerged as a crucial direction for the modern tourism industry. This study aims to evaluate the optimal design of low-carbon tourism itineraries using time-window assessment to enhance tourists' travel experiences while reducing carbon emissions. The research focuses on the Sayram Lake Scenic Area in Xinjiang, utilizing time-window statistical methods and heuristic algorithms to optimize the tourist routes within the area and design several low-carbon itineraries. The results show that integrating ethnic minority cultures into low-carbon tourism itineraries not only increases tourist satisfaction but also effectively reduces the carbon footprint during travel. This study provides valuable references for the practice of low-carbon tourism and offers specific recommendations for promoting sustainable tourism development.
