  • Abstract HDcctv¡]High Definition Closed Circuit Television¡^is the world's only electrical interface standard for HD surveillance video, providing 100% digital transmission of uncompressed HDTV¡]High Definition Television¡^signals over existing coax, and there is a great deal of general literature on CCTV surveillance systems. There are only limited specific studies, nonetheless, on the efficiency of the HDcctv surveillance system. Since HD-SDI ¡]High Definition - Serial Digital Interlace¡^is the latest type of technology, there are have been no data simulations and product testing standards in real finished system products. The focus of this research was on the efficiency of the HDcctv surveillance system, using experimental methods and standardized procedures, and the resulting data was categorized and quantified in order to ascertain its accuracy. Moreover, the data was applied to test the feasibility of the IP network engineering concept.
    The findings suggest that the efficiency of HDcctv surveillance system has significantly improved in high-definition resolution display and recording ability. The resolution efficiency was measured to be 6.136 times superior to the traditional CCTV. The results of these experiments allow the end user to clearly understand the difference in efficiency and quality of the surveillance systems when deciding on a purchase. These findings have implications for development of Ultra High Definition Television System on uncompressed technology and ultra-high-speed data transmission.
