Abstract | In recent years, diverse disasters have occurred frequently, causing substantial property losses among many individuals, as evidenced by statistics from the 112th fiscal year. Since that time, efforts have been made to promote safety in the use of fire and electricity, proper evacuation procedures during fires, earthquake preparedness, and correct usage of fire safety equipment, with a focus on timely disaster response and evacuation. This paper investigates the effectiveness of disaster preparedness knowledge among typical household members. It discusses public perceptions of disaster preparedness through satisfaction surveys, focusing on topics such as evacuation methods and routes, safe use of fire and electricity, disaster preparedness education, home visits, and various disaster preparedness activities. The study was conducted in Luodong Township, Yilan County, employing satisfaction surveys, expert interviews, and questionnaires administered to Luodong Fire Brigade personnel. Importance and achievement levels were analyzed, revealing that each aspect scored lower in achievement than in perceived importance.Based on expert interviews, recommendations for improvement include increasing the frequency of home visits and incorporating more dynamic teaching methods. The research indicates that the public does not fully embrace disaster preparedness initiatives promoted by firefighting personnel, as evidenced by an average survey score of 3, suggesting inadequate uptake of disaster preparedness concepts. Proposed strategies for change include altering the approach to education, employing dynamic teaching methods, and enhancing distribution of disaster preparedness materials. |
