Abstract |
Historical sites and historical buildings offer less protection against fire compared to general modern buildings. When there might be some difficulties in applying existing laws and regulations on cultural heritage, elimination and response plans may be proposed. In order to explore the response measures for eliminating firefighting equipment and fire refuge facilities, management and maintenance practices may be put forward from the perspective of fire protection management, so as to verify if the standards are met. In this study, the Ximen Red House was adopted as the research subject. Through the literature analysis method, historical data collection and historical fire damage analysis and comparison were conducted. From case studies to on-site investigations, then the usage of situations and fire risk investigations and assessments, the evacuation sequence was used as the basis, and specific action plans were listed to analyze changes in the evacuation timeline. The drills and verification of self-defense firefighting teams and hardware improvement made up for the inadequate firefighting equipment and fire- refuge facilities. The evacuation routes and self-defense firefighting teaming also underwent planning. The actual results of the drills showed that the completion time was 1 minute and 54 seconds, and the remaining time is 2 minutes and 19 seconds. Through the sequence verification, the standards were met. The results shall serve as references for other cultural heritages to use or for fire management and maintenance by other managerial units. |
