Abstract | Abstract The purpose of this research is to demonstrate the mechanical properties when adding single-wall carbon nanotube (including armchair, zigzag, and chiral SWCNT) to epoxy resin matrix. This paper focuses on the following aspects: 1. The strengthening effect of CNT 2. Further understanding the reinforcing mechanisms of nano-composite materials (NCM) formed by the addition of different chiral SWCNT by the investigation of interfacial energy 3. Investigation on whether temperature has an effect on the reinforcing abilities of nano-composite materials Investigating NCM models of different parameter and reanalyzing the mechanical properties and stress-strain behavior after bearing axial stretch. By conducting researches of NCM in this thesis, we hope to improve the knowledge and manufacture on NCM, and perhaps become and asset in optimum design of composite materials.
