  • Abstract Taiwan has abundant rainfall, however, the water availability per capita is much less than that of the world because of population density. Moreover, water retention became a difficult task due to the mountainous landscape and monsoon climate.
Water resources are in high demand in densely populated metropolitan areas with vigorous industrial and business in Taiwan. Addition to the water-saving policy promoted by EPA, attempt had been made by the Construction and Planning Agency to stipulate water resource index in its green building EEWH system¡]Ecology¡BEnergy saving¡BWaste reduction¡BHealth¡^in order to seek a way of ¡§more sources, less loss¡¨ to meet the increasing shortage situation.
This research focuses on studying the management articles in the construction industry in United States Green Building LEED system ¡]Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design¡^, the Singapore Green building BCA system (Building and Construction Authority), and the Public Utilities Board (Singapore Public Utilities Board-PUB) ¡Acomparing with our green building EEWH system with the purpose of exploring improving points for the EEWH system and serving as a reference for future revision.
The results showed that the current EEWH system in the part of water resources is needed to be improved and amended, including: establish the relation of "green building certificate candidate" to "green building", Add a section of ¡§Encourage to use water resources effectively in the interior design¡¨, Strengthen the mechanism of site water pollution and water pollution reduction system. The expansion mode of US LEED system is advised to learn for the expansion Taiwan EEWH system to other regions such as subtropical regions, water shortage regions, or countries with green building system not yet to be built by propaganda like. And the dedicated organization in Singapore Public Utilities Board-PUB is advocated so that EEWH system can have a dedicated consulting and marketing pipeline.
