| Title | Research on the Safety Management Improvement for Mobile Crane OperationsĄGA Case Study of the Guangfu Line in Construction adjancent Railway | ||

| Abstract | In recent years, our country has continuously promoted major railway projects such as dual-track construction, station renovations, and track maintenance. Mobile cranes are widely used for lifting components, transporting materials, and installing equipment. However, railway projects face higher work risks due to limited construction space, interference from train operations, high-voltage overhead lines, and night work. If accidents like falling loads, crane overturns, or electric shocks occur, they could cause injuries, equipment damage, and traffic safety hazards. Therefore, this study focuses on safety management for mobile cranes in railway projects, exploring the key factors that affect construction safety and proposing suggestions for improving safety management. This study used literature review, regulations analysis, accident case studies, and semi-structured in-depth interviews. Interviewees included construction supervisors, inspectors, occupational safety and health managers, and crane operation experts, to gather practical experience and management insights. The results showed that mobile crane operation safety is mainly influenced by human factors, environment, equipment management and operation, and institutional management. The most notable issues were insufficient pre-construction planning, incomplete personnel training, lack of equipment inspection and maintenance, inadequate control of work areas, and weak on-site supervision and management mechanisms. Thereforce, this research recommends strengthening pre-construction planning, implementing training and qualification management, establishing self-check routines for equipment, improving control of work areas and on-site supervision, and introducing smart monitoring and alert technologies. These measures aim to boost construction safety management, reduce the likelihood of occupational accidents, and serve as a reference for managing mobile crane safety in future railway projects. |
