Abstract | The working environment of firefighters needs to face many natural and man-made calamities, parting with life and death. Therefore, the stress resistance of firefighters must be strong enough.They devote more physical strength and labor to saving lives.Compared with firefighters abroad, firefighters in Taiwan have a wide variety of services. The importance of the study is whether the firefighters have ability in coping with the present situation and their opinions on current working environment. The study used literature review and questionnaires to investigate firefighters in New Taipei City, and 74 valid questionnaires were returned. We use SPSS statistical software to analysis the valid questionnaires by reliability analysis, Statistical description analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlations, and Multiple regression analysis. The findings of this study were as follow: (1) There are no significant differences in the three dimensions of work pressure to firefighters in the New Taipei City with different background variables. (2) Most firefighters believe that late night duties will affect the quality of life and health. (3) The correlation coefficient between "fatigue stress" and "personal stress" is the highest. (4) The decision of the higher authority is the option with the highest degree of dissatisfaction in this study. (5) This study found that the overall work pressure of firefighters was significantly higher. Finally, the results of this study, several suggestions have been made to the management of fire department, firefighter, and future researchers |
