| Title | Study of Gaseous Mercury Concentration at Meifon in Nantou | ||

| Abstract | In this study, the gaseous mercury was sampled by mercury analyzer at Meifon near in Nantou county from August, 2009 to April, 2010. Meanwhile, the concentrations of O3 and CO, and meteorological data were collected as well to do correlation with concentration of gaseous mercury. The results indicate that the averaged monthly concentration of gaseous mercury ranged from 3.20 ng/m3 to 18.6 ng/m3, and the concentrations were night during daytime. It was also found that the concentration of gaseous mercury raised as the sun rose, peak of concentration of gaseous mercury appeared in the midday, and the concentration of gaseous mercury dropped after midday. From the above phenomena, it inferred that those gaseous mercury might come from soil surface. During Sampling period, the main wind direction was southwest, and the results also showed that the higher concentrations were collected when wind blew from southwest, and the results also showed that the concentrations of gaseous mercury were higher on weekend , and it can be inferred that the concentrations of gaseous mercury was affected by traffic and travelers on weekend. |
