Abstract | When Ta-Shi community buildings got fired in Taipei County Taiwan, on August 31 , 2003, it caused 13 people were killed and 71 people were injured that shocked the whole Taiwan. At that time, the alley was too narrow. As a result, the aerial ladder fire-fighting truck could not enter, and it caused the Taipei County government purchased smaller ladder fire engines. The purpose of this study is to explore application of function for fire engine in city, and the study focused on the aerial ladder fire-fighting truck. Literature review of this study is introduced to all kinds of aerial ladder fire-fighting truck; researched real cases, study statistical data for analysis. The conclusions of this study are as follows: (1) The amount and demand of the aerial ladder fire-fighting truck of the New Taipei City are more than the other cities; (2) Two water tank fire-fighting trucks and one aerial ladder fire-fighting truck needs eighteen to twenty two fire fighters which is basic facilities in a city; (3) No matter where we are, where there are people, there are buildings. Building fire is always happened. In the city, there are more buildings than in the countryside. Thus, aerial ladder fire-fighting truck is necessary; (4) Using the aerial ladder fire-fighting truck is another way to rescue. Considering the urban characteristics, there is more buildings than in the countryside. Aerial ladder fire-fighting truck is necessary. |
