Abstract |
In order to strengthen the emergency medical service (EMS) system, enhance the EMS quality, ensure the life and health of patients in emergency settings, and make the EMS more complete and catch up the trend of the times, this study investigates the deficiencies of the current EMS and assessment for ambulance equipment adopted by Taipei City Fire Department. The analysis results of the deficiencies which are found in the operations of EMS have some suggestions as following: (1) an arrangement of workforce for emergency medical technicians (EMT) and emergency medical instructors must reset up; (2) Article 34 of the Emergency Medical Services Act to adopt electronic EMS medical records need to modify; (3) the arrangement of equipment on the ambulance must be standardize; and (4) a plan to assess the execution of EMS operations for the heads of all levels need to establishe, so that the management and all of the colleagues in the Fire Department will know well about EMS operations. The suggestions can be accepted by relevant units when providing EMS in the future. |
