Abstract |
In recent years, typhoons are always accompanied with heavy rain. The record-breaking rainfall causes city draining system to fail and therefore results in flooding. The research is based on the statistics from New Taipei City Government Flooding-Tendency Area Research System, and different combination of districts and rainfall intensity to show flooding-tendency area and flooding depth. Flooding-tendency map of 200, 450, 600 and 700 (extreme weather) millimeter rainfalls per day is used to simulate the flooding in Sanchong District. When it reaches 700 millimeter, a total of 389 people in 3 nursing care institutions and 18 kindergartens and nursery centers are classified as the first evacuating category. It takes 4 Fire Stations from 55 to 250 minutes, the longest and the shortest, for the evacuating simulations. Analyses are made in the hope of minimizing the damage caused by flooding in the days to come. |
