Title	Voluntary Service of Emergency Medical Technicians in a Prehospital Emergency Care : A Case Study of New Taipei City Government Fire Department First Brigade

Abstract	This study analyzed the efficiencies of volunteer Emergency Medical Technician in EMS duty. At the researcher’s convenience, the study area was the 1st District HQs of Fire Bureau, New Taipei City Government, and analyze all the duty time of volunteer Emergency Medical Technician in 2016. To inquire the truly value of volunteer Emergency Medical Technician in EMS duty, the interview with experienced experts, and questionnaire were employed. The results of this study indicate that: 1.Duty time of volunteer Emergency Medical Technician, which was truly needed. From the analyze can know, the weekday was from 08:00 am to 12:00, and 17:00 to 21:00 pm, for weekend was 08:00 am to 24:00 pm. Also there were more EMS cases during Jan., July, Aug., Dec., and the rush hour of EMS duty were 6~8 am, 13~14 pm, and 16 pm. 2.The truly value of volunteer Emergency Medical Technician were when the case was OHCA, and the emergency scenes was located on apartments.
