  • Abstract In traditional researches, most of the reliability evaluation of stochastic-flow networks are discussed in two-terminal networks or multiple-terminal networks. But in practice, many network connection patterns are star-shape or more complex tree-like structures in practical applications. Especially,general network systems which uses HUB to connect, are with hierarchical tree-like structure. This pattern is not like two-terminal network or multiple-terminal network. The reliability studies of such pattern are very few and remain to be studied. Therefore, this is the first study which uses minimal path approach to figure out the reliability of such pattern networks. We present some examples in the literature to explain the entire process of reliability evaluation.
