| Abstract | Firefighters' working hours are precarious, and shifts and unpredictable working environments place a heavy burden on their physical and mental health. With the rise of gender equality awareness, the proportion of female firefighters is gradually increasing, but the existing fire department facilities do not fully meet the needs of women, and the living environment still needs to be improved. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore the leisure needs of firefighters and the current situation and improvement suggestions of leisure space, and conduct in-depth interviews with firefighters in Keelung City, analyze their needs for various leisure activities and facilities, as well as the satisfaction with the use of leisure space, and the research results show that the existing leisure space of the fire department has the following problems: improper space location, some leisure space is appropriated, old facilities and single type, lack of leisure space for female firefighters. Therefore, this paper suggests that the short-term goals are to improve the kitchen equipment and optimize the dining area, build a multi-functional audio-visual system, re-plan the gym space and lighting conditions, and pay attention to the comfort and privacy of the lounge, and the medium-term goal is to revise the basic specifications for the renovation of the original fire department building, incorporate the leisure space of the fire department building into the building regulations, and formulate the type, quantity and space area of leisure facilities, and the long-term goal is to involve the fire department in urban planning, obtain the area and space required by the fire department building, and also improve the safety of the city. |
