Abstract |
Aging is a global issue, and there are many problems to be solved under the aging trend. However, among the many problems, cardiovascular disease, accidental falls and dementia are the most serious problems, which not only cause personal inconvenience but also affect the entire family. Based on this issue, this paper proposes a concept "device of mobility assistance with falling detection, and outdoor tracking, and cardiovascular status monitoring" for older people who suffer from impaired physical function or even abnormal cognitive behavior due to aging often need to use a walker when going out. However, current mobility assistance are just complementary actions. For older people working outside, when the body is in a state of illness, they can't react immediately because they don't know where they are. Thus, this paper develop a concept device of mobility assistance with electrocardiogram (ECG), radial artery pulse (PPG) measurement for cardiovascular disease and satellite positioning (GPS) for outdoor tracking and accelerometer for falling detection. |
