  • Abstract The professional and quality of Crew of train power car to the safety and 
    prevention of accident for thetrain are of significant importance. In order to reduce accidents and failures, Taiwan Railways Administration revised pointers and maintaining processes yearly,but heritage of technology is influenced by many factors, mainly deriving from heritage training; the study is aimed at locomotive practitioners in Taiwan railway, taking a locomotive depot repair business for example, discussing the effect on the inheritance of power car maintenance technology.
      In TRA mentoring system will be applied to staff training and technical instruction,for the purpose of the inheritance of organizational culture, work and experience. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between characters of locomotive practitioners and mentoring functions and the effectiveness of heritage of technology.the targets of this survey targets are employees of regional depot in the northern Taipei.there were 500 questionnaires issued,and 451 of them were retrieved, As a result of analyzing and compiling statistics ,the conclusions are summarized as follows.
    The variables of mentoring functions and technical heritage (occupational functioning, social support, role models, and functions of knowledge transmission) were significantly related to each other.In the study of social science the background characters of population (gender, class of service, age, level of education, length of service, services, funding and the work area), and were significantly correlated. Based on the conclusions above, maintenance staff will be enhance the employee learning effectiveness by teaching in accordance with their aptitude and by adjusting the proportion of mentoring functions of three dimensions appropriately enhancing . Itˇ¦s proposed to the locomotive Depot that it can select suitable workers as the first-line supervisor in the future to help employees identify with the organizational concepts, and remain serving in the organization.
