  • Abstract This article utilizes the regular waves for the experimental investigation on
    the study of the effectiveness of power generation by using the restoring force
    theory and ratchet wheel technique. Based on the concept of wave farm,two set
    of wave power converter located in different interval, i.e. d=87cm andd=174cm,
    was adopted to discuss over the efficacy of the energy converter as well as the
    influence of the interval to the output results. The test of three sets of power
    generator was also carried out, presently.
    Regarding the case of conventional freely-oscillation power generator,
    according to our results, though the efficiency of the power converters are
    similar, the one close to the coastline are found to be the best when d=174, due
    to the greater oscillation and frequently swing cause by reflected waves near the
    coastline. Moreover, as for the wave power converter developed presently with
    restoring technique and ratchet wheel, the frequently oscillation seem to affect
    weakly on the power output, which the first set was found to be more beneficial.
