Abstract | Abstract This research aims to help construct healthy and leisure communities through gathering various information of achievements in health-related constructions, integrating expertise, stimulating active participation of the public, respecting culture diversity, and establishing pro-health environments by and for the residents. In the process of organization search and community assessment, methods like Anderson¡¦s model, observation method, interviewing, literature reviews, questionnaires, focus group interviews came to the researcher¡¦s great help in collecting information of favorable environments provided for community residents. Furthermore, FGI seminars, community leaders advices, professionals insights provided extensive information and useful measures. The research indicates that Ping Xi District of New Taipei City Government has constituted 28 achievements in constructing healthy and leisure communities in the area, including seven in environmental ecology, four in health promotion and community school establishment, four in festival and general activities, two in business site remodeling and village building, six in health care, three in community care, and two in public security. This research concludes that (1) the public policy should conforms to community features; and (2) that community volunteers should be appealed for and training be strengthened, in terms of the plans of providing healthy and leisure communities in the area.
