Title Study of Impedance Behavior for Fine Aggregate and Mortar

  • Abstract This paper is to study the engineering property of fine aggregate of
    concrete by AC impedance. The research including the absorption
    capacity of sand, the impedance behavior of mortar and the setting time
    of concrete is implemented.
    The result shows that the absorption capacity of sand of varied F.M.
    can be determined by the relationship between electrical resistance or
    admittance and frequency. It is noticed that the value of electrical
    resistance or admittance has a gap between the frequency range 2000 Hz
    to 2510 Hz. The r-squared value of linear regression analysis with the
    relationship of water content and admittance is over 0.97. From the
    Nyquist plots for mortar, the impedance value increases and the
    admittance value decreases with increasing curing age. There is a linear
    trend between penetration resistance value or penetration resistance time
    and AC impedance value in concrete setting time test. In equivalent
    circuit simulation, the analysis of equivalent circuit model with interface
    effect is more accurate than that without interface effect.
