| Abstract | In order to prevent the occurrence of serious accident in Hsuehshan Tunnel, the central authorities and related units have fully established the system of announce and rescue, and security guidance short film, publication were provided for the road users to understand the elementary knowledge of accident prevention. This research appraised the security design of Hsuehshan Tunnel according to the security code of overseas long tunnel and highway tunnel design criterion of Japan Highway Public Corporation(MEPC). Secondly, a questionnaire was designed for the road users to investigate the cognition of security guidance and accident prevention announcement, in the meanwhile, this research gived a visit to the administrative units of Hsuehshan Tunnel in order to search for the defects of security design and blind spots in the announcement. Thus to promote the safety of the road users in long tunnel. Results of this research showed that the button notification equipments, water supply bolts, water casting equipments, car evading areas in the integral security appraisal of Hsuehshan Tunnel still did not conform to AA level in the design code of Japan Highway Public Corporation(MEPC). In the investigation of announcement cognition, over 50% the road users thought that the results of announcement were insufficient as well as the ways of informing; furthermore, the administrative units of Hsuehshan Tunnel did not pay enough attention to the results. At the end, this research offered some suggestions through the appraisal, invetigation and interview for the administrative units to promote the integral accident prevention and action with. |
