Abstract |
The star-shaped computer network is a computer network structure that is currently prevalent in enterprises, and is known of several merits such as simple installation, low HUB cost, and minimal user interference. However, due to the gradual expansion of the company's scale, various departments may be dispersed to separate locations. Therefore, the computer networks that link the various departments may have to be reached through the paid ISP wide area network. However, paid-by-flow program is less than the cost of the leased-line program, and is worth to be studied. This research proposes a study on star-shaped computer networks that takes reliability as a point of view and considers the cost to provide a reference for the establishment of the business community. The research gives a numerical example to illustrate how to apply the proposed method. |
