Title | The analysis of the factors for motorcycle fire disaster | ||

Abstract | According to statistics of the National Fire Agencyˇ¦s from 2007 to 2012, the total number for fire disasters of vehicle is second to the number of fire disasters for buildings in Taiwan. Also, there are not enough researches and studies for fire disasters of vehicle in Taiwan. As a result, this study will focus on the systems and components of the scooter which affecting the possibilities of vehicle fire disasters. By integrating opinions of experts, data base of papers, and analysis of real cases, we can make three main conclusions. First, it is helpful for investigators determining the fire path of the fire disaster by the components such as cushions, wheels, plastic body and metal frame of motorcycle. Second, the major factors affecting the fire disaster including the electrical failures at battery, circuit, rectifier, relay, power stabilizer, and fuse, the fuel leakage at tank and tube, the high temperature of exhaust pipe and the external fire source such as cigarette butts, firecrackers, and burning paper money. Third, also the final conclusion, the driving motorcycle is hardly on fire caused by the external fire sources. |
