Abstract | This research mainly explores the experience of Southern Vietnamese women who came to Taiwan after leaving their hometowns to open a Vietnamese snack bars in Taiwan. The study focuses on the potential relevance and the meaning behind it through the perspective of food culture, in-depth discussion and analysis. From the living hood before Taiwan, the adaption of living after coming to Taiwan, and the later opening of a Vietnamese snack bars in Taiwan. This research adopts qualitative research methods, analyzes through in-depth interviews, actual observations and written records, and discusses related issues of this research in depth. The results of the study found that: cross-cultural shock is a factor that affects the entrepreneurship of Southern Vietnamese new resident women. When starting a business, they will use their own skills and past work experience to create their own snack bar. In addition, when the Southern Vietnamese new resident women can support the business and living on their own, they will also assist people form their own town to demonstrate the importance of "social support." In addition, the "food culture" can bring closer relationships between people, allowing the general public to have further intercommunication with the other Southern Vietnamese new resident women in Taiwan. Lastly, this study found that the convenience of technology and a diversified business model can enhance the competitive advantage of Southern Vietnamese new resident women in the catering market. This research concludes that Southern Vietnamese new resident women can self-learning and develop diverse skills to enhance their competitiveness. In addition, they can use their own advantages to plan differentiated and characteristic menus. Furthermore, the cultivation of cultural interaction and ideological concepts can be nurtured from an early age. The government can promote the Vietnamese culture through dietary habits, history, people, and intercommunication, so that the general public can get to know Vietnamese culture early. |
