| Abstract |
Many people are familiar with the term "green tourism," but most of the people still focus on the concepts of energy saving, garbage classification, or reducing exhaust emissions. However, in order not to damage our environment through tourism, many countries have established many certification operations on green tourism, such as the "Green Label" in the United States, the "Green Lantern" in Japan, and the "Green Key Rating Program" in Canada, all of which have achieved considerable results. Besides, more and more countries around the world have begun to implement green tourism certification. Altho ugh green tourism is prosperous in Taiwan, we only provide "environmental hotels," which is energy-saving and environmentally friendly accommodations. The inspection and certification projects only aim for the environmental protection policies, energy conservation, water saving, waste reduction, green procurement, and hazardous materials management. The certification projects, then, have not been extended to the surrounding attractions, historical and cultural preservation, cultural and creative industries and sustainable management. As a consequence, the Taiwan Green Tourism Association invited three universities including the University of California Green Tourism Research Center to jointly develop guidelines that can enhance the social and economic interests of local communities in creating the maximum benefits of cultural assistance and ecological environment. The biggest difference of this research is that most scholars' research focuses on restaurants, vacation centers and hotels, etc. This research centers on 44 criteria projects for green tourism certification, and takes Sanbei Lingzhi Ecological Farm B & B in New Taipei City as the research participant. The methods of in-depth interviews and on-site visits are to check and verify individually, to find out problems and to make suggestions for improvement, and at the same time to implement a questionnaire survey on accommodation travelers to analyze the acceptance of green tourism for accommodation travelers. The results of this study show that Sancai Ganoderma Eco Farm B & B is quite positive towards promoting green tourism. It also agrees with the importance and benefits of green tourism certification. More than half of the travelers are satisfied with the quality of their services, and some of the tourists perform well on green operation.When choosing a green and environmentally friendly accommodation, although inconvenient, more than 80% of tourists are willing to support businesses with green tourism characteristics. The results of this study can provide references for other hotel administrators to practice green tourism and increase their willingness to apply for green tourism certification. In addition, hotel administrators can enhance industrial value through green tourism certification and work together for a green economy. |
