Abstract | The main function of automobile fuel gauge is to display the remaining amount of fuel inside tank. It is indispensable to whether cars or motorcycles. If the fuel gauge can not work correctly or the response is too slow, it will cause the driver traffic problems or traffic safety concerns. Therefore, the defect inspection is a very important procedure for fuel gauge manufacture. In this study, we use different coil circuit to simulate the change amount of fuel in the tank, and then the angle of fuel gauge pointer will change also. We apply the machine vision technology to measure the pointer angle and analysis the data to detect the angle error and response sensitivity of the pointer. With the gauge repeatability and reproducibility (GR&R), we check the vision inspection system performance and improve it by tuning image processing parameter. From the experimental results, the automobile fuel gauge vision inspection system in this study can find the defective fuel gauge correctly. |
