Title The Study of Current Development for Low-Rise Residential Steel Structure in Taiwan

  • Abstract Many benefits of low-rise steel building such as modeling diversification, short construction period, easy for modification, strength, shock absorption, energy conservation, environmental protection and other positive performances, which is popular in Europe and Japan and other advanced countries. On the other hand, Taiwan market of low-rise residential steel building is mainly contracted by small companies, market is relatively smaller, and the diversity construction methods by those companies resulting in lower quality, higher cost, and harder promotion.
    This thesis study properties, construction, and cost-effectiveness of the domestic low-rise residential steel building by analyzing actual large community of low-rise residential development case in Taiwan. In additional, this paper establishes a standard construction process of sloping roofs and wall of low-rise steel buildings. This method enables construction efficiently and reduces construction costs and promotes low-rise housing in Taiwan.
