Abstract |
Due to the more competitive global market and the shorter product life cycle, members in a supply chain are more eager to strengthen collaboration so as to increase their business performance. Therefore, building a good coordination mechanism is one of the important issues in supply chain management. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of the quantity flexible contract mechanism on the supply chain performance. There are four facets of coordination mechanisms, including quantity flexible contracts, partnership, the extent of information sharing and the extent of logistics integration. A questionnaire designed for the automotive industry in the Northern and middle parts of Taiwan examines the key factors influencing the supply chain performance. The results indicate that the four facets mentioned earlier have exerted great influence on the key factors (i.e., return on investment, logistics costs, order fulfillment rate, punctual delivery rate, acquisition of lead time, and inventory turnover rate). The results of this study can provide practitioners and academics with good solutions to deal with the problems of supply chain coordination mechanisms. |
