||
Keyword | |||
Abstract | Carbon reduction and water conservation are two significant components of national consensus. They are also essential elements in environmental education of primary schools. This study is on urban-rural differences of the water and electricity usage in schoolyard. The public primary schools in New Taipei City are the target population of this convenient sampling investigation. The author surveyed ¡§The Implement Results Report of Sustainable Schoolyard¡§ on school websites, collected water and electricity usage data and calculated water usage per person and electricity usage per class. Kruskal-Wallis one-way analysis of variance by ranks was applied in examining differences between urban and rural schoolyard. The subsequent processing was Dunn's multiple comparison for posterior test. The results showed urban-rural differences was significant. After chi-square testing of independence, it was found that the electricity and water consumption was highly related to kitchen or teacher dormitory. Basic operating threshold was observed in rural primary schools. The author suggest that whole area schools should committee to education, applying new equipment, and consumption management. Rural primary schools have the advantage and potential in developing water reuse and green energy. | ||
