| Abstract | Taiwan has become an aging society. With social change and fewer children in families, long-term care institutions have turned into one of main demands to take care of the elderly. How to manage placement, care and security of the place is the current concern. From 2012 to 2017, four incidents of fire occured in Nursing Center of Beimen branch of Xinying Hospital, Xindian Nursing Home, Longtan Private Long-Term Care Center, and Nanmen Nursing Home of Pingtung and they caused the accidents with 27 dead. It significantly demonstrated the fire control problem in fire scenes of elderly care institutions. This study focuses on elderly care centers, simulates report, fire extinguishing and fleeing to respond to fire scenes. It conducts real test on execution of certification time of the place and elderly disabled social welfare institutions, self-defense fire-fighting training and validates different limit time in the programs. It practices statistics and compares current execution of self-defense fire-fighting force in places of Xindian District and proposes the problems and suggestions of present regulations as the reference for the institutions to direct self-defense fire-fighting training and certification time. |
