Abstract | Abstract The ISO 9000 series of standards is one of the most widely applied quali-tymanagement systems globally. Developed nations and regions, such as Aus-tralia,Singapore, and the USA, have adopted the ISO 9000 series standards to establish quality management systems in response to market demands. The ConstructionIndustry in our country must also keep up with interna-tional trends, particularly whencompeting with foreign firms. It is essential to reassess the ISO 9000 standards andutilize the ISO 9000 quality management system to enhance the quality of publicconstruction projects undertaken by the Construction Industry. This study investigatesthe motivations, key factors, implementation barriers, and benefits of implementing ISO 9000 in the Construction Industry. A survey method was used, target-ingconstruction firms that obtained ISO 9000 quality certification within the last 1-3years. The analysis yielded the following conclusions: The motivations for implementing ISO 9000 in the Construction Industry areprimarily to "enter international markets," "comply with government regulatorysystems,""meet customer require-ments," requirements,"and"qualify for bidding on public projects."The key factors for successful ISO 9000 implementation in-clude "providing sufficientbudgetand resources," articipa-tion," and "team collaboration."The main obstacles encoun-tered are "lack of necessary certification guid-ance,""difficulty in fully implementing all requirements ¡§and¡¨ lengthy registration processes," reflecting the complexity and time con-sumption of the implementationprocess. The benefits of implementing ISO 9000 include among employees," and "enhancedcorporate im-age."There is a significant correlation between the motivations for im-plementing ISO 9000in the Construction Industry and its implementation barriers, key factors, and benefits. The obstacles and key factors are significantly related to the benefits of implementingISO 9000. |
