  • Abstract This thesis studies a shaft-sensorless, direct torque control, permanent magnet synchronous motor drive system. First, the conservative direct torque control method maintains the flux of the stator in constant. Because it cannot satisfy the control requirement of the maximum torque per ampere, a flux control method to output the maximum torque in minimum current is presented. In addition, a shaft-sensorless permanent magnet synchronous motor drive system with direct torque control is implemented by measuring the stator flux. Moreover, a low-pass filter is used to improve the disadvantage of traditional flux estimator. Next, a TMS320-F2808 based drive system is realized to execute the direct torque control and the shaft-sensorless methods to implement a full digital control system. Finally, some experimental results validate the correctness and feasibility of the proposed system.
