| Title | An Exploration of Foreign Studentsˇ¦ Work Intentions in Taiwan: The Case of Vietnamese Students at Tungnan University of Technology | ||
| Keyword | |||
| Abstract | This study aims to explore the work intentions of Vietnamese international students in Taiwan and the factors influencing those intentions, with Vietnamese students at Tungnan University of Technology as the primary research subjects. As Taiwanˇ¦s labor market becomes increasingly open and internationalized, the number of Vietnamese students coming to Taiwan for study and employment has continued to grow. Their perceptions and experiences regarding Taiwanˇ¦s work environment, salary and benefits, social culture, and life adaptation have thus become important issues in higher education and industrial workforce policy. This study adopts a questionnaire survey method. The questionnaire covers five dimensions: work environment factors, social factors, salary factors, family economic factors, and permanent residency factors. A total of 300 valid questionnaires were collected. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, and regression analysis. The results indicate that most Vietnamese students hold positive attitudes toward Taiwanˇ¦s work environment and social atmosphere, and consider salary levels and job stability to be attractive. However, family economic pressure and uncertainty regarding future permanent residency still affect their long-term willingness to remain and work in Taiwan. Overall, work environment factors and salary factors have a significant positive impact on work intention, while family economic factors also show a notable influence. Finally, based on the findings, this study proposes several recommendations to serve as references for Taiwanese higher education institutions, government agencies, and enterprises in employment guidance and policy formulation for international students, with the aim of promoting international talent retention and cultural integration. Keywords: international students, Vietnamese students, work intention, work environment, salary factors, intention to remain in Taiwan. |
